New Clients

Getting Started at Quandary Peak Counseling

Taking the step to reach out is often the hardest part. Once you do, we try to make everything that follows as straightforward as possible.

We are currently accepting new clients for individual therapy, couple's therapy, consultation, and supervision services. If you're not sure whether what you're dealing with is something we can help with, reach out anyway — we'd rather have a conversation than have you talk yourself out of it.

How to Request an Appointment

You can reach us by phone at 720-675-7918 or by submitting an appointment request online. We'll follow up to gather some basic information and match you with the provider best suited to your needs and availability.

If you have a preference for a specific clinician, you're welcome to request them directly. If you're not sure, we're glad to help you figure out who might be the best fit based on what you're looking for.

Your First Appointment

The first session is a consultation, typically 50–60 minutes. It's not a test and there's no right way to do it. Your provider will ask questions to get a fuller picture of what's bringing you in, your history, and what you're hoping to get from therapy. You'll also have time to ask questions and get a sense of whether the fit feels right.

Depending on your concerns, the intake process may involve a brief assessment or questionnaires before or after your first session. For clients seeking psychological evaluation rather than ongoing therapy, the intake will look somewhat different — your provider will explain what to expect at the time of scheduling.

Fees & Insurance

Fees in our practice range from $125-190, depending on your provider.

We are an out-of-network provider with most insurance plans, meaning we do not bill insurance directly. Many clients are able to seek reimbursement from their insurance company using a superbill (an itemized receipt we provide), depending on their out-of-network benefits. We recommend calling the member services number on the back of your insurance card and asking about your out-of-network mental health benefits before your first appointment.

We accept all major credit cards, HSA and FSA cards, and electronic payment. We are also a contract provider with Lyra Health EAP.

If cost is a barrier, please let us know when you reach out — we maintain a limited number of reduced-fee slots and are glad to discuss what's available.

Telehealth

We offer telehealth appointments via a secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform for clients located anywhere in all PsyPact participating states throughout the United States. Telehealth sessions work the same way as in-person sessions and are available for both new and returning clients. If you're unsure whether telehealth is right for your situation, we can talk through it when you call.

Paperwork & Documentation

We use a fully electronic system for intake paperwork, scheduling, and documentation. New clients will receive a link to complete intake forms after their first appointment — this typically takes 15–20 minutes and can be done from any device.
