Psychotherapy
Quandary Peak Counseling
Psychologists located in Denver, CO
Psychotherapy — sometimes called talk therapy, though that phrase undersells it — is the core of what we do at Quandary Peak Counseling. It is a professional relationship with a specific purpose: to help you understand yourself more clearly, move through what is keeping you stuck, and build a life that reflects who you actually are and what you actually value.
That process looks different for different people. For some clients, the work is focused and time-limited — a specific concern, a defined goal, a set of skills to develop. For others, it is longer-term and more exploratory: examining patterns that have been present for years, understanding how the past is shaping the present, and gradually developing more freedom in how they live and relate to others.
Our Approach
What to expect
Sessions are typically 50–55 minutes and are held weekly, particularly at the start of treatment. Frequency may shift over time depending on your needs and goals. Your provider will work collaboratively with you to establish a direction for the work and to revisit that direction as things develop.
Our clinicians are trained across multiple therapeutic frameworks, including existential, humanistic, psychodynamic, relational, cognitive-behavioral, and acceptance-based approaches. No single model is applied to every client. The approach is shaped by what each individual needs — their history, their concerns, and what the therapeutic relationship itself reveals over time.
Confidentiality
Everything discussed in psychotherapy is confidential, with narrow legal exceptions (imminent safety concerns, mandated reporting requirements). We use fully electronic documentation and scheduling to protect your privacy.
Getting started
New clients begin with an intake appointment that gives your provider a fuller picture of your history, your current concerns, and what you're hoping to get from therapy. From there, you'll work together to establish a treatment approach that fits.
